When you first enter your hotel room, check to make sure it is clean in each room and the sheets have been changed. Most hotel and motel maids take great pride in their work and like to be appreciated with a tip at the end of your stay. Leave a tip of your choosing with a card to say thank you. It can range from a couple of one dollar bills or a twenty. Be sure to tip waiters and other service people each time. If you are in a gambling town and happen to win a jack pot, be sure to tip the person that works the pay out for you and do not be selfish if it is a big jackpot. When you are ready to travel to a gambling town, make tips a part of the budget plan for all hotel and motel staff. They work hard for a small amount of money and many times the tips are the only thing that increases a low wage.
Everyone has not been blessed with the same financial means for survival. What this means is that when it comes to "getting a room" some of us have to go economically. In these situations particularly you usually get what you pay for. The benefit to getting a cheap motel in Houston is that it is cheap, obviously. But if we take a closer look the non financial charges might not be what you were expecting. You may find that the place is not as neat and comfortable as you would like. There is also always something wrong with an appliance or some part of the deal. As you can see there are both sides to a coin. You weigh the pro's and con's and choose the lesser of the two evils.
Most nationally recognized inns in Houston participate in a rewards program. Sometimes major companies all join together, or the same company with different names and you can earn points by staying in the same company, even if the name of the establishment is different, they are still run by the same folks. Some of the rewards offered are things such as bottled water in your room, free late checkout, automatic upgrades, lowered rates, free nights, and airline miles. These companies are so glad to have their regulars who respect the rooms and rent nationwide. Surprisingly enough, it does not take long to start earning right away. They want you to come back so they give you rewards, and fast, some offer one free night for every 5 stayed. Also if you show up and they don't have a standard room vacant they will upgrade you to another room for free.
